Seventeen years ago, my dad sat in a downtown LA Burger King and began to write what would become a manifesto for female emancipation and the evolution of human consciousness that he called The Female Imperative. Was he swept up in the optimistic enthusiasm of the times? Perhaps. In 2008, the country was fatigued from the war in Iraq and skeptical of its objectives. We were on the verge of electing the first black President, and the first woman had been closer than anyone in history for the nomination. Both offered real hope for true change. We were moving further into the 21st century embracing visions of a new day for the US, and a message of change for the world. But the picture my dad painted in Volume One could not have been any farther from an optimistic enthusiasm.
I remember thinking just that by the time he shared his writings with me five years later in 2013. Barack Obama was an extremely popular two term President. His policies and initiatives overwhelmingly supported people of color, including the Dreamers Act. He put two women on the Supreme Court including the first Latina, and more women served in his cabinet than any before him. The wildly beloved First Lady, Michelle Obama, was a maverick for health, education, gender and civil rights. His 2008 Democratic opponent, Hilary Clinton, had been the first female Secretary of State, and looked poised to actually become the next and first female US President. And yet, my dad fervently and graphically warned of dire consequences for humanity, especially women, at the hand of what he called “the affliction of the male ego Animal Mind.” All things considered, I was like, “Really?”
But as I read, I realized his visions were steeped in tens of thousands of years of a status quo of oppression and domination of the weak in body and status. In the end, regardless the strength of spirit or mind, ‘might’ always has, and apparently, always will be right! Could this all really be reversed in just 100 years? Reading further, I began to realize that the origins of all humanity’s woes had indeed spawned from the male ego’s insatiable lust for power. The cornerstones of human civilization; sustenance, energy, self-determination, security, anything and everything is a resource for more power, more domination, more authority. Money, sex, status, physical strength; anything and everything is an avenue to demonstrate its power and prove its superiority. The male ego animal mind must control, dominate, and conquer. Amassing power and authority is it’s driving force. It wants and needs to be challenged so that it may battle. Whether in the boardroom, bedroom or battlefield, what good is power, control and authority if it cannot be wielded and put to the test? How else can it’s superiority be put on full display?
Something told me dad was on to something. I could definitely see the validity of his fierce admonition of the male ego from a historical perspective. I could certainly agree that humanity was by no means free from the lethal grip of the male ego Animal Mind; still within its unmitigated grasp on the human condition. What I read in those 27 essays sparked something within me. To say I wrote Volume Two with enthusiasm would be an understatement. You could call it an ‘epiphany;’ an ‘Ah ha’ moment, but suddenly it all made sense! I had compartmentalized what I observed to be humanity’s failures, despite commendable efforts to improve the human condition. Like puzzle pieces on the board, each was only glimmer of the bigger picture. What I had needed all along was the primer that connected them, and that was the male ego of Animal Mind!
Dad’s Volume One of TFI is a “What and Why.” What is the male ego Animal Mind and why is it such a destructive force; antithetical to human survival let alone human evolution? My Volume Two is a “How.” How is the male ego Animal Mind maintaining its position of supreme authority into the 21st century, even as it is clearly in opposition to our survival and our evolution? We published our compilation on Smashwords in 2014. I had the feeling we had cracked the code so-to-speak, of our history and seemingly never-ending perilous present. Knowledge is power, and I was contented that we had surely contributed to, even fortified, the collective consciousness of compassion, cooperation, compromise and community that, against all odds, had continued to hold its ground. While the potency of my dad’s apprehension has never faltered, in the present moment at that time, I could actually still optimistically recognize and acknowledge that even as the struggle continued, there was clear evidence that the collective forces for good would, in the end, prevail. The present moment at that time, however, was eleven years ago!
I don’t believe that anyone who has been paying attention in the US and around the world, was prepared for the level of sheer depravity we have sunk to since 2014. I don’t believe anyone could have predicted the shocking cruelty and mercilessness of the male ego Animal Mind. And I don’t believe that anyone, anywhere, could have imagined how easily and swiftly the masses of people of good conscience would forfeit their values, convictions and principles; to cower in fear in the shadow of self-serving indifference. In 2025, TFI reads like a predictive forecast of the horror the male ego Animal Mind is capable of to hold on to its position of total authority, domination and oppression of what it considers weak: compassion, cooperation, compromise and community. It has thrown down the gauntlet on love, life, and self-realization. My dad and I can no longer wait. The publication of The Female Imperative is in itself an imperative.
There is little mention of current events in TFI so as not to distract from the immutable principles of its universal message. My Blog, however, will be devoted to demonstrating the principles of TFI in real time. Headlines will be dissected through the lens of the male ego Animal Mind as well as the lens of Female Creational Consciousness of compassion, cooperation, compromise and community.
Women and men of Human Mind must not stay silent in this moment. It is literally a matter of life and death.

Animal Mind: a human brain with no conscience, or an animal brain with a personally motivated human ego. Scary thought indeed. Animal mind is the seat of the male ego. It considers nothing other than itself. It’s most base instincts are acted out and motivated by self-serving personal agendas and vendettas, and self-centered wants, desires and demands. The primal male ego animal mind considers itself in a constant battle for survival of the fittest.
A battle is meant to be fought and won. When the only objective is self-preservation, then the ends will always justify the means. If the only end game requires a winner and a loser, how can compassion, cooperation, compromise and community reflect anything but fleckless foolishness?
In TFI’s Volume 2 Chapter 4; The Polity of Male Domination, I expose Social Darwinism for the most sublime mechanism devised by the male ego animal mind in its quest to divide and conquer that it is. Darwins Theory of Evolution was basically based on adaptation; that the odds of any species evolution depended on its ability to successfully adapt to the circumstances that either supported or threatened its survival.
But the natural world is bound by the laws of nature. It’s not self-aware or personally motivated. It is pure. There is no ego. Social Darwinism, on the other hand, has nothing to do with adaptation. It has everything to do with domination and is bound only by the personally motivated value systems that use metrics of perceived strength vs. weakness, success vs. failure, fit vs. unfit, superior vs. inferior.
The concept of Social Darwinism isn’t new. It has long and well served the males ego’s sense of superiority going back to the beginning when God created Man in his own image, and Woman was later crafted out of the body of man. But it began to take a broader foothold into western social, economic and geo-political parlay during the turn of the 20th century and has remained as the central premise of the neoliberal conservative movement we see today.

Trump Administration – Jan 2025 to Nov 2025
· 55,000 federal workers have been fired, and over 90,000 more have resigned due to federal employment ultimatums demanding unethical practices or partisan loyalties. The sectors most hit by these budget and work force cuts are the Department of Health and Human Services; the Centers for Disease Control; AmeriCorps; National Park Service; Department of Interior including funds for a Refugee Resettlement Facility; Department of Education; and the Environmental Protection Agency.
· 42M have had federal funding for food stamps cut off (40% children; 20% seniors; 40% veterans, disabled, sick and unemployed).
· 6M have had their Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program for heating assistance cut off.

And that’s all that matters – literally.
Compassion, cooperation, compromise and community are a direct threat to the male ego’s existence and so cannot be allowed to proliferate. Diversity, equity and inclusion says that merit and excellence shouldn’t be measured by social or personal bias, and inherent advantage should not undermine equal representation. But in the male ego Animal Mind, inherent advantage is always the winner, and inherent disadvantage is always the loser, and only the fittest deserve to survive.
When the two halves of our human whole, Female Creational Conscience and Male Creative conscience, form their rightful union, only then will compassion, cooperation, compromise and community overcome the depraved male ego of Animal Mind.
